Keeping Our Community Fed
It might be hard to believe in a community such as Lacombe that there are people who often go hungry. Unfortunately, this is the case and in response, the Lacombe Community Food Bank provides food for those who might not be able to feed themselves or their families.
Our facility has two large walk-in fridges to hold items that require refrigeration. We also have a large pantry (which is actually a whole room) that holds all our dry and canned goods. At the Food Bank, we do our best to keep these shelves stocked but we couldn’t do it without our donors.
We have a good working relationship with the local grocery stores. We frequently purchase bread, produce, pastries and other groceries to stock the food bank.
The Lacombe Community Food Bank also provides children’s school lunch bags, which are available twice a month. You can contact us to find out more about the school lunch program.
